About us
Initiative for peace and women’s right in Africa (IPWR Africa) is a non-governmental Organization established in 2012 under the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). It was founded with the aim of empowering Women and girls to gain power to secure their rights and impact their society positively. It’s thematic areas of intervention for women empowerment include: girl child education, Women in peacebuilding and Women in politics.
About our programs
Our girl child education programs include:
- Girls mentoring programs
- Campaign outreach in schools
- Girls and Women Movements
- Capacity building programs
Our Women programs include:
- Capacity building programs for female politicians
- Mentoring programs for female legislatives and politicians
- Women peacebuilding mission in conflicting communities
Aims and objectives of IPWR include:
- To promote attainment of sustainable peace and security of people in Africa especially in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria through peaceful means
- To promote the economic and political empowerment of Nigerian people especially women, youths and children
- To engender peace and security in Africa through women participation in in peace talks
- To promote girl child education in Nigeria
- To achieve UN Gender charter 2030 on Women
- To carry out advocacy on all cultural practiced against women
- To provide leverage for the less privileged to be able to compete with others
- To create an environment that encourages and enables the ultimate expression of human potentials
